He believed that 25 feet <br />is a very small area and that a landscaping buffer would take approximately 3 years to reach the <br />required heights. <br />Mr. Adair felt that a minimum 30 -foot Type A buffer would be appreciated for agriculture and <br />that a 50 -foot setback sounds like a good starting point. He asked the Board to please consider <br />protecting and ensuring the quality lifestyle which now exists in the County. <br />Glenn Legwen, 5900 51h Street SW, American Farmland Trost, stated he had done extensive <br />research when he first came to Indian River County and found quite a lot of agricultural property. He <br />questioned how much agricultural land we want to maintain in Indian River County as a great deal has <br />already been lost. <br />The Chairman asked if anyone else wished to be heard in this matter. There being none, she <br />closed the public hearing. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Adams, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Ginn for discussion, that the <br />Board adopt the Ordinance, requiring a 30 -foot Type A buffer <br />with a nuisance disclaimer and a 50 -foot budding setback <br />After general discussion, Commissioner Adams stated that she would be willing to AMEND <br />THE MOTION to include a 30 -foot Type A buffer with a 6 -foot opaque feature and a building setback <br />of 30 feet, with a nuisance disclaimer. <br />MAY 20, 1997 <br />THE AMENDED MOTION died for lack of a second. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Macht, that the <br />Board approve staff's recommendation. <br />THE MOTION died for lack of a second. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Adams, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Ginn, that the Board approve a <br />Type A buffer with a 6 -foot opaque feature, a 40 -foot setback, <br />and a nuisance disclaimer. <br />ECO!( t1� <br />27 FACE 4���, <br />
