PROCLAMATIONS AND PRESENTATIONS <br />PROCLAMATIONDESIGNATINGMAY25 31,1997ASAMERICANHOME WEEK <br />Chairman Eggert presented the following Proclamation to Peter Annfield: <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, Americans enjoy the freedom to own private property and the right to use or transfer <br />it as they see fit: and <br />WHEREAS, with this ownership comes the need to protect our private property rights: and <br />WHEREAS, with these rights often comes the desire to improve property - whether homes, farms, <br />shopping centers, industrial parks or office buildings - and by so doing, enhance the value of such <br />property; and <br />WHEREAS, the citizens of Indian River County should be mindful of this value, not only in a <br />monetary sense, but in the sense of the inherent worth of property as it pertains to the enjoyment of life <br />locally; and <br />WHEREAS, each year REALTORS - members of the local REALTORS Association- call <br />attention to the importance of private property rights by celebrating AMERICAN HOME WEEK; and <br />WHEREAS, this month the REALTORS Association of Indian River County will emphasize the <br />value of home ownership and other property ownership within the community; and <br />WHEREAS, the strength of our nation flows from the promise of individual equality and freedom <br />of choice; and <br />WHEREAS, we must, as individuals and as a people, take a stand to make equal opportunity for <br />all, including equal opportunity in housing, a reality in our community; and <br />WHEREAS, barriers that diminish private property rights and limit the options of any citizens will <br />ultimately diminish the rights and limit the options of all: <br />MAY 209 1997 <br />IN <br />
