O'HARE <br />WHO IS RETIRING AFTER <br />So YEARS IN THE MINISTRY <br />WHEREAS, the Reverend Father John B. O'Hare carne to Florida from Ireland in 1953, <br />at the age of 23, to serve at: <br />• St. Paul's Parish in St. Petersburg <br />• St. Tense's Parish in Titusville <br />• St. Helen's Parish in Vero Beach, and as <br />• Comptroller for the Diocese of Orlando; and <br />WHEREAS, the Reverend Father John B. O'Hare became the founding pastor of Holy <br />Cross Catholic Church in 1981 and oversaw the construction of a magnificent 900 seat Church as <br />well as a Parish Center and Rectory; and <br />WHEREAS, he has faithfully served his parishioners as their pastor for 16 years and he has <br />been an Indian River County spiritual leader during this period; and <br />WHEREAS, he has served in voluntary charitable work, including church support of two <br />Habitat for Humanity homes, contributing to the Samaritan Center, Coalition for the Homeless and <br />Our Father's Table Soup Kitchen, and serving on the Advisory Board of the Vero Beach Crisis <br />Pregnancy Center and participating as an Elijah in the annual Crisis Pregnancy Center Walk for Life, <br />and providing the use of the Parish Center for their annual fund raising banquet: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that the Reverend Father John <br />B. O'Hare has given unselfishly of his time and talents, bringing spiritual help and counseling to <br />many of the citizens in this state, and specifically in Indian River County.
