McCAIN <br />AND STAFFED CAPITAL PROJECTS ENGINEER <br />BY: DEPARTMENT OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: NORTH BEACH WATER PLANT CONVERSION TO REGIONAL <br />REPUMP, INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PROJECT NO. UW -96 -10 -WC <br />On February 11, 1997, the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners <br />approved contract negotiations with the firms of Camp Dresser and McKee, Inc. <br />(CDM) and Brown and Caldwell, Inc. (B&C) for the above -referenced project. <br />(See attached agenda items and minutes). The firm of _CDM was selected to <br />provide engineering services, with B&C to provide financial analysis for <br />funding and payback of project costs.. <br />The preliminary construction- cost estimate is $2.2 million dollars. The <br />negotiated engineering fee -with CDM is S230.061.00. -The negotiated fee for <br />the associated financial analysis is S19.387.00. For details of the proposed <br />contract, please see the attached. The Utilities staff is now before the <br />Board of County Commissioners for approval of the attached contracts to allow <br />the project to commence. Funding for this project will be through the Impact <br />Fee Fund. <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the Board of <br />County Commissioners approve the attached contracts with CDM and B&C and <br />authorize Chairman to execute same as presented. <br />DATE: MAY 27, 1997 <br />TO: BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIONERS <br />THRU: TERRANCE G.
