ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Ginn, the Board unanimously approved Change <br />Order No. 1 and final payment and release of retainage in the <br />amount of $18,828.08, to Dickerson Florida, Inc., as recommended <br />in the Memorandum. <br />CHANGE ORDER IS ON FILE <br />IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />ILGA FRONTAGE ROAD - INDIAN RIVER BOULEVARD AT <br />ROYAL PALM BOULEVARD INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS - <br />JOINT PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT WITH FLORIDA <br />DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum dated June 18, 1997: <br />TO: James Chandler <br />County Administrator <br />THROUGH: James W. Davis, P.E. <br />Public Works Director �- <br />FROM: Terry B. Thompson, P.E <br />Capital Projects Manager <br />SUBJECT: Florida Department of Transportation <br />Joint Participation Agreement <br />Intersection Improvements <br />Frontage Road Indian River Boulevard at Royal Palm Boulevard <br />DATE: June 18, 1997 <br />The Florida Department of Transportation has requested that the County enter into a Joint <br />Participation Agreement(JPA) for the construction of improvements at Indian River Boulevard <br />(SR 60) and Royal Palm Boulevard. The improvements consist of a southbound right tum lane <br />(west side of Indian River Boulevard), construction of a one way frontage road on the <br />northeast side of the intersection, modification of the existing full median opening to a <br />directional opening and extension of the existing southbound left tum at said opening. <br />The Florida Department Transportation's initial intent was to build the described improvements <br />under Push Button Contract However, the estimated cost of the improvements exceeded the <br />$50,000.00 limit for Push Button Contracts. To expedite construction the Florida Department <br />of Transportation has included this project in the five-year work program for Fiscal Year 98/99 <br />and requested that the County construct the improvements on a reimbursable basis. <br />The total estimated cost of the proposed improvements is $150,000.00. The attached JPA is <br />for reimbursement up to $150,000.00. The County will request additional funding if the bids <br />come in over $150,000.00. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FINDING <br />Staff recommends the following actions be taken: <br />1.
