PROCLAMATION - DODGER APPRECIATION DAY <br />Chairman Eggert read the following proclamation and presented it to Mr. Robin Lloyd: <br />PROCLAMATION <br />IN SUPPORT OF THE LOS ANGELES <br />DODGERS ORGANIZATION <br />WHEREAS, the Los Angeles Dodgers have been outstanding <br />corporate citizens of Indian River County, Florida for nearly fifty <br />(50) years, while Indian River County and the Dodger Organization <br />have enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship over this period; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County, Florida takes great pride in <br />having Dodgertown and the Dodger Organization as part of its <br />corporate community; and <br />WHEREAS, it is recognized that Dodgertown is the finest <br />training facility in professional sports in the world, and the <br />Dodger Organization has made numerous contributions to the well- <br />being of Indian River County, supporting its charities regularly; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Dodgers have displayed exemplary character as a <br />team and organization; and <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County takes great pride in <br />acknowledging that it is the Florida Home of the Dodger <br />Organization: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTS, FLORIDA that June 28, 1997 be <br />designated as <br />DODGER APPRECIATION DAY <br />in Indian River County. The Board further wishes to express its <br />appreciation for the contributions of the Dodger Organization to <br />this community, and encourages all of its residents to support the <br />Dodger Organization in any way possible. <br />Dated this 24 day of June, 1997. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Carolyn. Eggert, irman <br />Mr. Robin Lloyd, speaking on behalf of the "We Love Our Dodgers Committee" of the <br />Chamber of Commerce, accepted the proclamation with thanks. He advised that it would be <br />presented to a representative of the Dodger organization at Saturday night's game. He advised of <br />various activities to be held and invited everyone to come out for Saturday night's game to show <br />appreciation for the Dodgers.
