Chandler <br />County Administrator <br />FROM: John Wachtel <br />The Downtown Vero Beach Association <br />DATE: July 9, 1997 <br />RE: Resolution Supporting Main Street Designation <br />Attached please find a copy, for execution by the chairman, of the <br />resolution authorized for adoption by the Board of County <br />Commissioners on July 8, 1997. This Resolution was originally <br />submitted on March 26, 1997. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Ginn, SECONDED by Commissioner <br />Macht, the Board unanimously adopted Resolution 97-066 <br />Authorizing Participation in the "Florida Main Street" Program <br />RESOLUTION NO. 97-66 <br />A Resolution Authori in Pa ici ation in the "Florida Main <br />zS`tr%et" 5rogram <br />WHEREAS, the Florida Main Street Program (Program) has been created to assist <br />Florida communities in developing public-private efforts to revitalize their "Main Street" <br />areas, and <br />WHEREAS, the Secretaryof State will select a number of communities to participate in <br />the Program in the upcoming year. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY that the County hereby endorses <br />submission by The Downtown Vero Beach Association of an application to participate in <br />the Program with the specific goal of revitalization within the context of the Main Street <br />Approach. <br />JULY 15, 1997 V PACE� <br />E?�OK <br />3 <br />
