I will address your request as presented. As you will note from my <br />responses, a part of this information was previously furnished either with the individual budget <br />amendment requests or with the 1997-98 Operating Budget request. <br />230 <br />1. Relating to the January 9th budget amendment in the amount of $417,870: <br />Response: Attached is a copy of worksheet titled "Budget Amendment #1-1996-97" <br />which was sent over after the letter. This worksheet outlines how the monies were <br />distributed. <br />2. The number of vehicles purchased in the 1996-97 Budget: <br />Response: To date we have purchased and received 26 vehicles and we have 9 on order <br />to be delivered before 9-30-97. <br />The following is a listing of the vehicles purchased or ordered: <br />1 Ford Expedition $ 32,035 <br />30 Ford Crown Victorias 591,215 <br />2 Ford Taurus 33,538 <br />-2- Ford Explorers 46"632 <br />Total 35 $703,420 <br />Twenty three of the vehicles were purchased with Broward County revenues and the <br />balance with General Fund monies. This information was included with the budget <br />amendment detail forwarded each month with the cover letter. <br />3. The average jail population per month from August, 1996, through August, 1997: <br />4. The number of full and part-time positions that were added in the last three years: <br />Response: The number of positions included in the 199495 budget as current positions <br />totaled 344. The 1997-98 budget request included 379 current positions. The net change <br />over the three year period has been an increase of 26 swom and 9 non -sworn for a total of <br />35 additional positions.
