to consider the application of Coastal Health Systems of Brevard Inc. for a Class "C" <br />Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity to provide non -emergency ALS Neonatal <br />Interfacility Medical Transport Services originating from Indian River County. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />An application for a Class"C" Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity to provide non- <br />emergency ALS neonatal interfacility medical transport services was received from Coastal <br />Health Systems of Brevard Inc., on August 7, 1997. Coastal Health Systems of Brevard, Inc. <br />is requesting this certificate to allow their units to transport Wuesthoff Health Systems <br />neonatal crews to Indian River County to pick up neonatal patients requiring their services <br />and transport back to Brevard County. <br />Chairman Eggert announced that a request had been made (due to a family situation) <br />to schedule this public hearing on October 14, 1997, not on the 7'h as stated in the <br />Memorandum. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Macht, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously scheduled the <br />public hearing for the above matter to be held on October 14, <br />1997. <br />H.E. Chandler, County Administrator <br />THRU: Joseph Baird, OMB Director <br />FROM: Beth Jordan, Risk Manager <br />DATE: 17 September 1997 <br />SUBJECT: Request for Agenda; Excess Insurance Program <br />Please consider this item for the Board of County Commissioners' September 23, 1997, <br />agenda. <br />Background <br />In 1988, the County utilized the services of Siver Insurance Management Consultants to <br />develop its modified self-insurance program for property, liability, workers' compensation, <br />and third party claims administration. As part of the original program design, Siver <br />recommended the excess insurance coverages and affiliated services be re -bid every <br />three to five years, depending upon satisfaction with the incumbent carrier(s), market <br />conditions, etc. to make certain the County obtained the best coverages at the best costs. <br />Following that advice, the County remarketed the program in 1992 and the resulting <br />41 <br />SEPTEMBER 23, 1997 <br />BOC , l u"" PnE l� <br />
