BOOK 103 PAGE 36 <br />Mr. Torres commented that they would also consider amending their request to a less <br />intensive land use if that would make it more palatable. <br />The Chairman asked if anyone else wished to be heard in this matter. There being <br />none, she closed the public hearing. <br />Chairman Eggert felt there certainly was no oversight in that area as the County had <br />negotiated the urban service area with the DCA ad nauseam before ending up with that <br />peninsula. <br />Commissioner Macht felt the County line makes that area an island and perhaps it was <br />a mistake not to include it in the urban service area in view of the anticipated expenditure of <br />funds to push development of the contemplated industrial park. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Ginn, the Board, by a 4-1 vote <br />(Commissioner Macht opposed) adopted Resolution 97- <br />141 denying the transmittal of a proposed amendment <br />to the Indian River County Comprehensive Plan to the <br />State of Florida Department of Community Affairs for <br />their review (Bessemer Trust Co. - Plan Amendment <br />#LUDA 97-07-0170). <br />RESOLUTION NO. 97- 141 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN <br />RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, DENYING THE TRANSMITTAL OF A PROPOSED <br />AMIINIDMENT TO THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO THE <br />STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS FOR THEIR <br />REVIEW. <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners adopted the Indian River County <br />Comprehensive Plan on February 13, 1990, and <br />WHEREAS, the county received comprehensive plan amendment applications during its July <br />1997 amendment submittal window, and <br />WHEREAS, the Local Planning Agency held a public hearing on all comprehensive plan <br />amendment requests on October 9, 1997 after due public notice, and <br />NOVEMBER 4, 1997 68 <br />
