WISEMEN, P.E. <br />AND STAFFED ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER iw Vv <br />BY: DEPARTMENT OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: LAURELWOOD WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY <br />PLANT DEMOLITION <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PROJECT NO. IIS -96 -03 -CS <br />BACKGROUND <br />The connection and rerouting of sewer flow from the Laurelwood Wastewater <br />Treatment Facility to the South Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant has <br />been completed. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection has <br />approved and cleared this final connection. The plant has been completely <br />cleaned and decommissioned (see attached letter to FDEP dated October 24, <br />1997). Per agreement with Customer Service, Inc., a/k/a Laurel, Inc., the <br />zunty is responsible for dismantling and removing the plant prior to <br />return of the property to Laurel, Inc. (see attachment). <br />ANALYSIS <br />The staff proposes to advertise the bid for this demolition work. The <br />preliminary estimated cost for the subject demolition is $50,000.00. The <br />project will be funded from the operation fund. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the Board <br />of County Commissioners authorize the staff to advertise the bid. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Macht, the Board unanimously authorized staff <br />to advertise the bid, as recommended in the Memorandum. <br />39 <br />December 2, 1997 <br />600K NJ PACE 010 <br />
