BOOK PAGE <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The Staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends approval of the following: <br />1) Proceed with a survey and appraisal of the property as outlined above <br />2) Proceed with negotiations for the properties purchase and return to the Board <br />of County Commissioners with the staffs recommendation <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED <br />BY Commissioner Adams, to approve staffs recommendation <br />1) to proceed with a survey and appraisal of the property as <br />outlined in the memorandum, and 2) to proceed with <br />negotiations for the property's purchase and 3) return to the <br />Board with a recommendation. <br />Under discussion, Commissioner Ginn asked to be shown on a map the access to the <br />property. <br />Capital Projects Engineer William F. McCain, P.E. displayed a map of the area on the <br />ELMO and described location of the property and points of access. He stated that the <br />County only needs 2 to 2-1/2 acres, but the property owner will only consider parting with <br />10 acres. <br />Commissioner Adams was shown where 49th Street was in comparison to the <br />property in question and understood the two properties were not contiguous. <br />B.A. CONSTITUTION REVISION COMMISSION- ARTICLE V - <br />COURT SYSTEM COSTS <br />Chairman Tippin reported that Florida Association of Counties is urging member <br />counties via an Alertnotice to contact the members of the Constitution Revision Commission <br />concerning Article V and court costs. He asked the Board's permission to write the CRC <br />members to plead for relief of these costs. <br />January 20, 1998 <br />
