• <br />Mr. Smith advised that shoreline stabilization will be addressed at a later time. <br />Commissioner Macht stated that he was glad to see the use of native plants. <br />Mr. Smith added that the original numbers are preliminary and they have added a 10% <br />contingency for unforeseen issues. He wondered whether that would affect the motion, and <br />Commissioners Ginn and Eggert agreed that the project should be scaled back. <br />Commissioner Adams questioned where the matching funds would come from, and <br />Director Davis advised that does not have to be designated at this time but it would come <br />either from park revenue, one -cent sales tax, or possibly DOT until such time as the bridge <br />work is completed. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Adams, the Board <br />unanimously approved Resolution 98-016 for <br />Highway Beautification Funding from the Florida <br />Department of Transportation. <br />RESOLUTION 9816 <br />A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />FOR HIGHWAY BEAUTIFICATION FUNDING FROM THE <br />FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County is interested in <br />carrying out the following described project for the enjoyment of the citizenry of Indian River County, <br />and the State of Florida: <br />Project Title: Wabasso Causeway Beautification (SR 510 ) <br />Total Estimated Cost: $275,892.00 <br />Brief Description of Project: Landscape enhancements along the entire frontage of <br />Wabasso Causeway Park, consisting of vehicle access <br />control measures, entry features, groupings of palms, <br />Bahia sod, native wild flowers and irrigation for <br />establishment of the plantings. <br />WHEREAS, it is desirable that certain roadside areas within Florida Department of <br />Transportation right-of-ways must be maintained and should be attractively landscaped, <br />WHEREAS, Florida Department of Transportation financial assistance is required for the project <br />mentioned above, <br />NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County that the project described above be authorized, <br />AND, be it further resolved that said Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County <br />make application to the Florida Department of Transportation in the amount of 50% of the actual cost <br />of the project. <br />JANUARY 27, 1998 <br />-31- 600K o4 PAGE , <br />L <br />
