DeBlois, CP <br />Chief Environmental Planning <br />DATE: January 28, 1998 <br />SUBJECT: BOARD APPROVAL OF PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT WITH THE ST. JOHNS <br />RIVER W.M.D. AND THE FLORIDA INLAND NAVIGATION DISTRICT FOR <br />COST -SHARE PURCHASE OF THE FLINN TRACT <br />It is requested that the information herein presented be given formal consideration by the Board of <br />County Commissioners at its regular meeting of February 3, 1998. <br />DESCRIPTION & CONDITIONS <br />At a public hearing on October 14, 1997, the Board of County Commissioners approved County <br />purchase of the ±37.6 acre Flinn Tract on south Indian River Boulevard, contingent upon the County <br />securing cost -share funding from the St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD) and <br />the Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND) (see attached minutes). <br />Since that time, both the SJRWMD Governing Board and the FIND Commission have formally <br />approved their cost -share participation. Attached is a Participation Agreement for each agency to <br />execute as part of the Flinn Tract closing.
