Commissioner Ginn believed the contractor would work harder to complete the job
if the County is holding 10%. That retainage is in the contract and she felt the County
should hold to the terms of the contract.
Commissioner Adams felt that some of the delays experienced in projects are not due
to the fact that the County is holding monies, but are due to things like the weather. She
noted an instance where it was not anticipated that driveways would have to be moved but
that change did arise. She felt that as long as staff is confident the project is moving along
as anticipated, there would be no problem continuing this practice.
ON MOTION by Commissioner Ginn, SECONDED
by Commissioner Macht, the Board unanimously
awarded Bid #8038 to Jim Wright Construction in
the amount of $21,800 and approved the sample
contract upon review and approval as to form by the
County Attorney, as recommended by staff.
DOCUMENTS NgigNeE ONFILEINTHE
OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD
WHENEXECUTEDAND RECEIVED
7X INDLwRwER FARMS WATER CONTROL DISTRICT - FIBER OPTIC
CABLE RIGHT-OF-WAYPERMIT - PERMIT AND INTERLOCAL
AGREEMENT NO.
