• <br />Commissioner Eggert's understanding was that constitutional officers could use their <br />own fees and provide their own spaces; that the Board could not challenge that but would <br />only need to act in the event of the necessity of approving sales tax funds. <br />County Attorney Vitunac advised that the constitutional officers are obligated for the <br />operation and maintenance of their offices but the Board's obligation is to provide space for <br />those offices. It is up to the Board to prohibit or approve this move. <br />Commissioner Ginn commented that the Tax Collector should be praised for his <br />common sense approach to the matter. <br />After further discussion, CONSENSUS was reached to take no action at this time. <br />9.B.1. Chandler t - <br />County Administrator <br />At the March 24, 1998 Board meeting, Environmental Division Director Myron Gunsalus will <br />present an overview of Harbor Branch research services. <br />County Administrator James Chandler reminded the Board that during discussion <br />regarding the Piper situation, information had been provided that Harbor Branch might be <br />able to assist the County and the Board had asked to have a representative explain what <br />assistance might be available.
