qr r ;y a <br />oL1K 4ei 0' 11-6 <br />Commissioner Ginn noted that is approximately the size of the lot she lives on. <br />Commissioner Adams questioned the setbacks from the rear and side property lines. <br />Elizabeth Riddle stated they had talked to the title company who handled the <br />purchase of their property and were told they would be entitled to get their money back <br />should the setbacks be found to be inadequate. They have been unable to locate a permit <br />issued when the garage was built. <br />Joan Carlson, Executive Director of the Humane Society, expressed her sorrow for <br />the Riddles in having pets they may not be able to keep. She noted that exotic animals pose <br />quite a problem in South Florida. People obtain them from sellers who are not providing the <br />consumers with the proper information and the animals are then abandoned, leaving the <br />community to fund the costs of capture, maintenance and disposal of these very specialized <br />animals. <br />The Chairman asked if anyone else wished to be heard regarding this matter. There <br />being none, he closed the public discussion. <br />Mr. Riddle questioned what happens next, and County Attorney Vitunac stated that <br />Mr. and Mrs. Riddle have the right to appeal the Board's decision in court. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Ginn, the Board <br />unanimously found that the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission did not fail in any of the appeal review <br />guidelines outlined in Land Development <br />Regulations Section 902.07 and staff's report; denied <br />the appeal; and upheld the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission's decision to deny the administrative <br />permit use, as recommended by staff. <br />MARCH 24, 1998 <br />-32- <br />• 0 <br />
