1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />TMMAY2 MARCH 6th 1934. <br />At a regular meeting of the Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian <br />River <br />County, Florida., held in the City <br />of Vero Beach, at 10:00 <br />o'clock A.M.Tuesday, <br />March <br />6th 19349 the following members of <br />the Board were p(resenti <br />J.J.P.Hamilton, <br />Chairman; J .D.Yongue; R.E.Vadge; John M. Knight and Edwin A. Helseth. Also present <br />were Miles Warren, Clerk; Tim. Frick, 'Sheriff , and James T. Vo cello, of the law firm <br />of Vocelle & Mitchell, as ,attorney. <br />The minutes of the previous meeting was read and approved. <br />9. N. *Smith appeared before the Board and requested that additional time be given <br />him to pay the rent now due the County for office space in the Court House. He agreed <br />that if he could not pay the rent he would give a mortgage on his law books. The <br />Sheriff was instructed to either collect, or investigate the security and if satis- <br />factory take ,the some until the account has been paid. <br />The Notary Public bond of P. B. Gallagher, WaVasso, in the sum of $500.00 with <br />American `,Surety Company, a corporation, as surety was approved. <br />It appearing to the satisfaction of the Board that Mrs addle Kemp, Minter Beach, <br />is entitled to an exemption of $500.00 on valuation of property assessed for taxes, <br />by reason of having an invilad°b , it was ordered that the Tax Collector allow <br />Mrs. Kemp this exemption on the 1933 tax roll, and enter the same on the error and <br />insolvencies report, and the same will be duly approved. <br />It was ordered that Mrs Jessie Yates, Fellsmere, now receiving $10.00 per month <br />from the pauper fund be stricken from the list from this date. <br />It was ordered that Mrs. Eva Helen Vo jtik, Fellsmere, now receiving $6.00 per <br />month from the Mothers' Pension Find be stricken from the list from this date. <br />It was ordered that the Vero Beach Press -Journal be designated as the newspaper <br />in this County in which shall be published the acts and resolutions of the 1933 <br />legislature of the State. <br />0 <br />Bill of E. E. 'Sanderson, Court reporter, in the sum of $170,50 account of case of <br />State of Florida -vs- Harold G Redstone be laid over for further consideration. <br />Pletcher & wotllen, Vero Beach, submitted a proposal to sell to the County all the <br />material now on hand that vas to be used in a proposed caUseway across the Indian <br />River, which was never completed, for the sum of $880.00 and the use of the pile driver <br />in removing the material. The same was ordered filed for consideration. <br />The State Auditor f iled his report of the audit of 'the Tux Collector, and the <br />Tax Sale Certificates on file in the office of the Clerk Circuit Court, whichw as <br />examined by the Board and ordered filed as a part of the public records 6f the County. <br />U 1T RES.
