.7 <br />• <br />When Chairman Tippin asked if Commissioner Adams had anything else, she <br />remarked that the Commissioners had "set her up" and that "pay backs will come". She was <br />referring to the "Keep Indian River Beautiful" clean up event this past weekend. She <br />reported how she had worked hard to make sure she beat the rest of them, only to get back <br />to the office on Monday and find out that none of the other Commissioners had participated. <br />The other Commissioners offered their excuses and congratulated her on a wonderful <br />job. <br />13.D. Eggert, County Commissioner <br />Chairman, Transportation Disadvantaged Local Coordinating <br />Board <br />Date: April 23, 1998 <br />Subject: Political Ads on County Vehicles <br />Political ads have appeared on the trolleys, which are county -owned vehicles. <br />Traditionally, political ads have not been allowed when local, state and <br />government funding is used. <br />As Chairman of the Transportation Disadvantaged Local Coordinating Board <br />(TDLCB), I ask the Board of County Commissioners to ask our Community <br />Transportation Coordinator, Council on Aging, to remove the ads from the <br />trolleys and refund any money used to purchase the ad space. <br />In addition, I wish approval by the Board of County Commissioners to ask the <br />Council on Aging to develop a [policy on ads that shouldn't be used, such as <br />liquor and tobacco ads, etc., and present it to the TDLCB for approval. <br />Apri128, 1998 <br />103 <br />rp(n <br />[10111( 1 U 5 PnE ooi <br />
