O'Brien, Assistant County AttorneyjP0 <br />DATE: April 22, 1998 <br />SUBJECT: Adoption of Latest Edition of National Electrical Code (NEC) <br />The Indian River County Code contains a number of standard building codes. These <br />codes are updated from time to time. The NEC has been updated with the latest <br />edition being 1996. The current Indian River County Code specifies the 1990 NEC. <br />In order to maintain a good insurance rating for county construction 1996 edition <br />should be adopted. <br />A proposed ordinance is attached which, if adopted, will update the County's Code to <br />reflect the NEC 1996. <br />A hearing date of May 12, 1998 is suggested. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Ginn, the Board unanimously scheduled a public <br />hearing date of May 12, 1998 to consider adoption of the latest <br />edition of the National Electrical Code (NEC), as suggested in <br />the Memorandum. <br />U Release and Substitution of Drainage Easement - Knight and <br />Mathis, Ina and Glendale Trade Center, Ina <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of April 22, 1998: <br />TO: The Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: 41c," William G. Collins II - Deputy County Attorney <br />DATE: April 22, 1998 <br />SUBJECT: Release and Substitution of Drainage Easement <br />On September 25, 1997 the Planning and Zoning Commission approved a site <br />plan for Glendale Trade Center, Inc., mini -storage facility. It was a condition of <br />the site -plan approval to relocate a drainage facility that ran along the eastern <br />portion of the site by the FEC Railroad tracks to the western portion of the site, <br />approximately midway between the FEC Railroad and Old Dixie Highway. <br />A•pri128, 1998 <br />20 <br />
