RECOACMMgDATION: <br />Staff recommends the bid be awarded to the second low bidder, Clearshield of Indian River <br />County, in the amount of $6,673 for the reasons alluded to above. Staff also recommends that <br />the Board authorize staff to utilize the remaining funds of $8,727 left over from the prior <br />allocation of $15,400 for the same vendor to install hurricane shutters on Emergency Services <br />Stations #2,5,6,9 and Med 1. <br />ATTACHMENT <br />IRC Bid #8045 Vendor Spreadsheet <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commgsioner Eggert, SECONDED <br />BY Commissioner Adams to approve staff's recommendation. <br />Commissioner Ginn wondered what it would cost for a few clear shutters so people <br />in the stations could see out, and Director Wright referred her to the spreadsheet below as <br />to costs. He further responded that it would mean that all of the stations would not be able <br />to have shutters.
