S_ Proposed Amendment Affordable Housing Changes to Match <br />New Comprehensive Plan Policies (staff initiated <br />Director Boling reviewed the information and recommendations contained in the <br />memorandum above concerning this proposed amendment. <br />Commissioner Ginn wished it noted for the record that she is still very opposed to <br />increasing density for affordable housing. She believed the County could find another way <br />to help anyone wishing to build affordable housing — other than increasing density. <br />The Chairman opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to be heard in <br />this matter. There being none, he closed the public hearing. <br />There was 3-1 (Commissioner Ginn against) agreement with staff's recommendation. <br />6. Proposed Amendment: Household Pet Definition & Non - <br />Commercial Kennels (Potbellied P(gs) (Staff and Planning and <br />Zoning Commission Initiated) <br />Director Boling reviewed the information and recommendations contained in the <br />memorandum above concerning this proposed amendment. <br />Chairman Tippin asked if the Commissioners had any questions. <br />Commissioner Adams asked about the people who already had potbellied pigs, and <br />Director Boling thought that Animal Control might be getting calls to pick them up. He <br />explained that what happens is they grow so large that the owners are no longer willing to <br />keep them inside. Under this ordinance, the County will no longer consider potbellied pigs <br />"household" pets. <br />The Chairman opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to be heard in <br />this matter.
