CHAST <br />AND STAFFED MANAGER OF AS ENT PROJECTS <br />BY: DEPARTMENT OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: PETITION WATER SERVICE - 129= STREET <br />(BETWEEN OLD DIXIE AND RIVERSIDE DRIVE) <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PROJECT NO. UW -96 -05 -DS <br />RESOLUTION IV - FINAL ASSESSMENT <br />On May 27, 1997, the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners approved <br />Resolution III (97-59) for the preliminary assessment roll for the above -referenced <br />project. Construction of the project has been completed. Customer connections have <br />begun, and on May 19, 1998 final payment to the contractor was approved by the <br />Board of County Commissioners. We are now requesting the Board of County <br />Commissioners' approval of the final assessment roll (see attached minutes and <br />Resolution III). <br />ANALYSIS <br />The total estimated project cost, including engineering and administration, was <br />$64,079.00, less a non -assessed portion of $40,229.00. The total estimated cost for <br />the preliminary assessment was $23,850.00, with an estimated cost per square foot of <br />$0.201741. The final project cost is $65,526.61, less a non -assessed portion of <br />$41,845.61. The assessed portion of the project is only the line on 129th Street. The <br />portion on Old Dixie is Master -planned, and the portion on Indian River Drive is a line <br />extension for looping and was also not included in the assessed portion of the project. <br />Partial funding for these elements will be recovered by line extension fees as <br />customers connect in the future (please reference the attached map). The final <br />assessment (see attached Resolution IV and the accompanying assessment roll) is in <br />the amount of $23,681.00, which equates to a cost of $0.200311 (rounded) per square <br />foot. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the Board of County <br />Commissioners approve adoption of Resolution IV, which is attached, and authorize <br />the chairman to execute same. <br />May 26, 1998 <br />
