r <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Ginn, the Board unanimously deleted 11.D. from <br />the agenda. <br />5. PRESENTATION OF AWARDS FOR GREAT FLORIDA <br />CLEANUP CHALLENGE- HARRIS SANITATION AND TREASURE <br />COAST SANITATION <br />PeterJergel, general manager ofHarris Sanitation, joined by Richard Conte, general <br />manager of Treasure Coast Refuse, advised that Fellsmere had won the "municipality <br />challenge." Fellsmere had received $300 checks from both companies for their well - <br />organized cleanup efforts. Commissioner Adams was the County Commissioner who won <br />the "district challenge." She was awarded a pyramid style trophy (made of recycled <br />aluminum cans) and a $300 check from each company payable to her favorite charity, Save <br />Our School Restoration. Messrs. Jergel and Conte thanked the Commissioners for their <br />support of Keep Indian River Beautiful; they hoped to make the cleanup challenge an annual <br />event. <br />Commissioner Adams accepted her trophy and checks and commented that she felt <br />she had been "set up" by her fellow Commissioners and could have worked only 15 minutes <br />and still have won. <br />6. APPROVAL OFMINUTES <br />The Chairman asked if there were any additions or corrections to the Minutes of the <br />Special Meeting of May 4, 1998. There were none. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Ginn, the Board unanimously approved the <br />Minutes of the Special Meeting of May 4, 1998, as written and <br />distributed. <br />The Chairman asked if there were any additions or corrections to the Minutes of the <br />Regular Meeting of May 5, 1998.
