BOOK 106 PAGE 10 <br />Following the Solid Waste Disposal District meeting, Commissioner Adams reported <br />on a letter which had been just received from Bill Roberts (lobbyist) of Tallahassee <br />concerning the Carson Platt Estate purchase and a meeting of the Land Acquisition and <br />Management Advisory Council at which they will review the State's policy of not allowing <br />counties to hold a title interest when participating in joint land acquisitions. This matter has <br />been added to the agenda as item 13.C. for record-keeping purposes. <br />5. PROCLAMATION <br />S.A. Code Enforcement Officers' Appreciation Week - June 15-19= <br />1998 <br />Chairman Tippin read the following proclamation aloud. It was accepted on behalf <br />of the Code Enforcement Officers (who were working outside of the building) by <br />Community Development Director Bob Keating. <br />June 9, 1998 <br />PROCLAMATION <br />DEBIQG JOKE iS - JANE 19, 1998 <br />AS CODE EMF EcMG NT OFFICERS' <br />AVFRSCIATION WEER ffi <br />INDIAN RIVER CODNT! <br />WHEREAS, Code Enforcement Officers provide for the safety, <br />health and welfare of the citizens in the community through the <br />enforcement of building, zoning, housing, animal control, fire <br />safety, environmental, and other codes and ordinances; and <br />WHEREAS, Code Enforcement Officers are often not credited <br />for the jobs that they do in saving lives and improving <br />neighborhoods, as are emergency personnel such as police, fire, <br />and emergency medical services; and <br />WHEREAS, every day, assisted by support and program staff, <br />they attempt to provide quality customer service to the public <br />for the betterment of the community; and <br />WHEREAS, too many times, their efforts go unnoticed, even <br />after code compliance has been accomplished due to their efforts <br />and expertise; and <br />WHEREAS, Code Enforcement Officers are dedicated, well <br />trained, and highly responsible individuals who take their jobs <br />seriously and are proud of their department and the local <br />government within which they serve: <br />NOW, Tom, HE IT 8R =RXMW By TBE BOARD OF Comm <br />CO!ffiSSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COMM, FLORIDA that the week of <br />June 15 - 19, 1998 be designated as <br />CODE EXPORCEMOM OFBICERB' APPRECIATION WEER <br />in Indian River County. The Board thanks the Code Enforcement <br />Officers for their dedication and outstanding service to this <br />community.
