Chairman Tippin asked about the population of the beach mice, and Mr. DeBlois <br />believed that the numbers were diminishing. <br />Commissioner Ginn wanted a nature trail developed for public use on this property. <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION and the motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />CONTRACT WILL BE PLACED ON FILE <br />WHEN EXECUTED AND RECEIVED IN THE <br />OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />9.B. COUNCILMAN JACK GROSSETT - LOST TREE ISLANDS <br />City of Vero Beach Councilman Jack Grossett requested that the Board of County <br />Commissioners reinitiate in-house negotiations with and for the purchase of Lost Tree <br />Islands. He stated they have until November 15' to get the matter resolved. <br />Vice Chairman Macht believed the City did the right thing at their Special Call <br />meeting the previous night which should remove the lawsuit against the City. He also <br />believed that the City and County should wait until the outcome of the Administrative <br />Hearing in Tallahassee for any further action. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Vice Chairman Macht, SECONDED <br />BY Commissioner Ginn, to reinstate negotiations in-house after <br />the Administrative Hearing. <br />Chairman Tippin asked that the motion be amended to "consider reopening" <br />negotiations. <br />Commissioner Eggert suggested they all wait until August 15`' to do it. <br />Commissioner Ginn WITHDREW HER SECOND. <br />Chairman Tippin ruled the MOTION DEAD. <br />County Attorney Vitunac counseled that it usually takes 30-60 days after the <br />Administrative Hearing before the opinion is published. <br />July 14, 1998 <br />41 <br />tt�UK U0 fAc, -, .3 VOO <br />
