BOOK 106 FAGE 04, <br />Based on the analysis, staff has determined that the requested zoning district is compatible with <br />surrounding areas, is consistent with the comprehensive plan, meets all concurrency criteria, will <br />have no negative impacts on environmental quality, and meets all applicable rezoning criteria. Most <br />importantly, the subject property is located in an area deemed suited for low-density multiple -family <br />residciitial uses. r ui these reasons, staff supports the request. <br />Based on the analysis conducted, staff and the Planning and Zoning Commission recommend that <br />the Board of County Commissioners approve this request to rezone the subject property from A-1 <br />to RM -6. <br />1. Rezoning Ordinance <br />The Chairman opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to be heard in <br />this matter. <br />Bruce Barkett, attorney for the applicant, was in agreement with what had been said <br />by Director Keating and staff. He was available to answer questions, if any. <br />It was determined that no one else wished to be heard and the Chairman closed the <br />public hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Ordinance 98-019 amending the Zoning Ordinance and the <br />accompanying Zoning Map from A-1 to RM -6, for property <br />located on the north side of 26' Street, approximately 1/z mile <br />east of 74' Avenue. <br />Commissioner Ginn reiterated her continued concern about the transition from <br />residential to agricultural and lack of greater buffering around agricultural properties. <br />Commissioner Adams agreed. <br />August 25, 1998 <br />34 <br />
