UW -96 -18 -DS <br />BACKGROUND <br />At the public hearing on June 10, 1997, the Indian River County Board of <br />County Commissioners approved Resolution III (97-61) for the preliminary <br />assessment roll on the above -referenced project. Construction of the project <br />has been completed. We are now ready to begin customer connections and <br />request the Board of County Commissioners' approval of the final assessment <br />roll. (See attached minutes and Resolution III.) <br />ANALYSIS <br />The preliminary assessment was for an estimated cost of $223,299.89, which <br />equated to $0.176227 per square foot of property assessed. The final <br />assessment (see attached Resolution IV and the accompanying assessment roll) <br />is in the amount of $191,737.97, which equates to a cost of $0.152460 <br />(rounded) per square foot. The final a,5sessment and project cost is 14.13% <br />less than originally estimated. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the Board of <br />County Commissioners approve the adoption of Resolution IV as outlined <br />above. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Ginn, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Eggert, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution 98-098 certifying "as -built" costs for installation of <br />water service to the east side of US#1 (39 h Street to Harbor <br />Drive) and such other construction necessitated by such project; <br />providing for formal completion date and date for payment <br />without penalty and interest. <br />September 22, 1998 <br />104 <br />
