Davis, P.E. <br />Public Works Director` <br />J <br />SUBJECT: Public Hearing for Consideration of Local Option Gas Tax <br />Distribution Formula <br />DATE: September 14, 1998 <br />Section 209 of the County Code requires that the Board of County <br />Commissioners conduct a Public Hearing bi-annually for the purpose <br />of reviewing the method of distribution with the municipalities for <br />the Local Option Gas Tax Revenue (64, -per gallon). Staff has <br />received updated data from all five municipalities regarding <br />formula parameters (population, number of equivalent lane miles of <br />roadway, and transportation expenditures during the past five <br />years). If the existing distribution formula is retained, the <br />attached chart contains the distribution percentages. The chart <br />has been sent to all five municipalities. <br />At this time, staff is recommending that a public hearing date of <br />October 27, 1998 be established.
