EMERGENCY SERVICES STATION #11 AND STATION <br />#8 - ARCHITECTURAL/ENGINEERING SERVICES - EDLUND <br />DRITENBAS ARCHITECTS <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of September 29, 1998: <br />TO: Honorable Board of County Commissioners <br />THROUGH: James E. Chandler, County Administrator <br />FROM: Doug Wright, Director DATE: September 29, 1998 <br />Emergency Services <br />SUBJECT: Architectural/Engineering Services for Emergency Services Station #11 and <br />Station #8 <br />On August 18, 1998, the Board of County Commissioners authorized staff to release a Request For <br />Proposals (RFP) for an architectural/engineering services contract for permitting, design, and services <br />during construction of an emergency services station on County owned property located on the North <br />Barrier Island at 2555 CR 510 (93rd Street) and similar services for the renovation of Station #8 located <br />at 1115 Barber Street in Sebastian. <br />In accordance with Chapter 287.055, Florida Statutes and the Consultants Competitive Negotiations <br />Act (CCNA), a Selection Committee was appointed by the County Administrator. The Selection <br />Committee reviewed the proposals submitted by firms in response to RFP #9017 and decided to hear <br />oral presentations from three firms. On Tuesday, September 29, 1998, the Committee interviewed the <br />three firms and based on their experience, qualifications, and presentation, determined the following <br />prioritized short list: <br />1. Edlund & Dritenbas Architects, P.A. <br />2. Gee & Jenson Engineers, Architects, Planners, Inc. <br />3. Schaardt & Fullan Architects, P.C. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of the list as presented and requests authorization to enter into negotiations <br />for a contract with the number one ranked fine. This process will be carried out as prescribed in the <br />statutes and a contract will be brought back to the Board for consideration. <br />Commissioner Ginn noted that she felt the public should know who is on the <br />committees involved, and County Administrator Chandler agreed that would be noted on <br />future items. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Ginn, the Board, by <br />a 3-0 vote (Chairman Tippin and Commissioner <br />Eggert being absent), unanimously approved the <br />prioritized short list submitted by staff and <br />authorized staff to enter into negotiations for a <br />contract with the number one ranked firm, Edlund & <br />Dritenbas Architects, P.A., as recommended by staff. <br />OCTOBER 6, 1998 <br />-54- <br />nox 10.7 FADE 278 <br />
