AGRICULTURAL ARENA BUILDING (FAIRGROUNDS) - <br />SECOND GRANT FROM FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF <br />AGRICULTURE AND CONSUMER SERVICES - CONTRACT #4617 <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of November 3, 1998: <br />TO: James E. Chandler, <br />County Administrator <br />FROM: James W. Davis, P.E., <br />Public Works Director: <br />SUBJECT: Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services - <br />Second Grant for Agricultural Arena Building - Contract # 4617 <br />DATE: November 3, 1998 <br />On October 7, 1997, the Board approved accepting a $159,000 grant <br />from the State of Florida to construct an Agricultural <br />Arena/Exhibit building at the Fairgrounds. A second grant in the <br />amount of $200,000 has been received this year. The attached <br />second project agreement formally establishes the same grant <br />conditions as the first agreement which include the following: <br />1) The County will provide for construction of the building, <br />following applicable labor laws and state procedure. <br />2) Grant eligible costs are design, permitting, impact fees, site <br />work, and building construction. <br />3) Proper documentation of costs are to be maintained by the <br />County <br />4) The building should be constructed as soon as possible, but no <br />specific time of completion is specified. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />Staff has reviewed the second agreement and has no objections to <br />its content.
