10. REPORT ON LOS ANGELES DODGERS <br />Administrator Chandler reviewed his memo of November 23, 1998: <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />DATE: November 23, 1998 <br />SUBJECT: Los Angeles D e <br />FROM: James E. dler <br />Since the meeting with the Vero Beach City Council, City Manager Rex Taylor and I <br />have continued our discussions with the Dodgers to negotiate acquisition and lease back of the <br />Dodgertown facilities. Additionally, there was an informal meeting with Dodger President and <br />CEO Graziano and other management representatives on November 16*. Mayor Pease and <br />Commissioner Macht were present as well as Rex Taylor and I. <br />Attached is a copy of the letter formally transmitting our proposal to the Dodgers and Mr. <br />Graziano's response. <br />The Dodger representatives have indicated that to properly proceed to evaluate and <br />negotiate our proposal in a timely manner, appraisals of the facilities are now required In that <br />regard, they have retained the services of Arifield Wagner. Their appraisal is anticipated within <br />4 to 5 weeks. <br />As reflected in the attached memo from the General Services Director, three quotes were <br />received for the City/County appraisal. Callaway & Price, Inc. are recommended at a fee of <br />$9,000. Based on the fee for those parcels proposed for acquisition by the County, the County <br />expense is $7,000. The City expense would be $2,000. The recommended funding for the <br />County expense is General Fund Contingency. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Macht, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Ginn, the Board unanimously approved hiring <br />Callaway & Prince, Inc. to conduct an appraisal of certain <br />Dodger properties for a fee of $9,000 (County's share $7,000; <br />City of Vero Beach's share $2,000), as set forth in the <br />Memorandum. <br />11.G.1. 43RD AVENUE IMPROVEMENTS - RIGHT-OF-WAY <br />ACQUISITION - PARCEL NO. 173 - VINCENT J.
