MEMO: Mike Owens, Manager Fleet Operations, to Jim Davis dated <br />Nov. 23, 1998 <br />DATE: November 23, 1998 <br />Effective Jan. 1999, all underground fuel tanks and pumps in the <br />nation, including County fuel systems, must be equipped with <br />pollution control equipment to reduce overspill, reduce <br />evaporation, and provide other environmental safeguards in <br />accordance with EPA standards. <br />In order to comply with EPA standards, staff has considered three <br />alternatives as follows: <br />Alternative No. 1 <br />Upgrade the existing Fleet Management tanks and pumps. <br />Staff has received two estimates for the work as follows: <br />Wilson Petroleum $56,750 <br />Southern Petro Systems $49,585 <br />DECEMBER 1, 1998 <br />
