r1e0OF � � FKE 908. <br />amaaaaaaaaaaaasaamaaaaaaaaaaaamamsaammaaamsmaaaammaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The County Public works Department is in need of traffic <br />signalization plans for the five subject intersections. <br />Intersections #1 and #2 are proposed new traffic signals. <br />Intersections #3 and #4 are existing traffic signals that must be <br />rebuilt. Intersection #5 is a proposed new flashing beacon. <br />The County received quotes from three consultant firms. The lowest <br />quote for a mast arm style signal design was from Hughes Hall, Inc. <br />(HHI), in the amount of $7,500. The lowest quote for a standard <br />(span -wire) signal design was from Florida Database Systems, Inc. <br />(FDSI), in the amount of $5,850. Both firms have prepared traffic <br />signalization plans in the County in the past and are familiar with <br />County plans preparation procedures. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The alternatives are as follows: <br />Alternative No. 1 <br />Authorize County staff to issue purchase orders to HHI and FDSI to <br />proceed with the traffic plans preparation for all intersections. <br />Alternative No. 2 <br />Deny the proposals and cancel the projects. <br />RECO MATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends Alternative No. 1 - issuance of purchase orders to <br />HHI and FDSI for the traffic plans preparation for all <br />intersections. Funding is from the following account numbers: <br />1. College Lane & 58th Ave. - $5,850 . . . 111-245-541-033.19 <br />2. (HHI) and Florida <br />Database Systems, Inc.
