C 11 <br />County Traffic Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Joint Participation Agreement (JPA) with the Florida <br />Department of Transportation (FDOT) for: <br />1. Traffic Signal Installation at S.R. 60 & 74th Avenue <br />2. Median Revisions on S.R. 60 at Village Green West Estates <br />and Indian River Estates <br />DATE: December 31, 1998 <br />a�oao��aaaaaaoaaaa=aaaaaaanaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaQaeaaaaaaaa <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The FDOT has prepared a joint participation agreement (JPA), <br />between the FDOT and Indian River County, to allow the County to <br />install a traffic signal at the intersection of S.R. 60 and 74th <br />Avenue. The JPA provides for the following: <br />1. The FDOT shall fund the project's estimated $150,000 cost. <br />2. The County shall design and install the traffic signal and <br />associated median revisions. If the project cost exceeds <br />$200,000, the County shall pay the overage. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The attached JPA is a standard agreement similar to many agreements <br />the County has executed in the past. The alternatives are as <br />follows: <br />Alternative No. 1 <br />Approve the JPA and authorize the BCC Chairman's signature. <br />Alternative No. 2 <br />Deny approval of the JPA and cancel the project. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends Alternative No. 1 - approval of the JPA.
