BOOK J08 PAGE -&3 <br />It was pointed out that the County has only one outstanding bond issue at the present <br />and Administrator Chandler mentioned that was one of the points made to the public prior <br />to the previous referendum on the 10 optional sales tax. <br />The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION and the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />13.D.1. COMMISSIONER STANBRIDGE - ST. JOHNS RIVER <br />CELEBRATION <br />Commissioner Stanbridge announced that on March 20' the St. Johns River <br />Celebration will be held in the St. Johns Marsh and invited the other Commissioners and the <br />public to attend. She credited Vice Chairman Adams for having done a wonderful job in the <br />past, so there is not much trash to be cleaned up. An historical marker will be unveiled at <br />the comer of CR507 and Fellsmere Kenansville Grade. There will be some speakers, <br />brochures, food, and trash bags. She extolled the benefits of the marshes to our county and <br />the nation. <br />13.D.2. COMMISSIONER STANBRIDGE -AMERICAN HERITAGE <br />RIVER PROGRAM - ST. JOHNS RIVER <br />Commissioner Stanbridge followed her last item with calling on the Board for support <br />of the American Heritage River Program for the St. Johns River. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Stanbridge, <br />SECONDED BY Commissioner Adams that the Board support <br />and endorse that the St. Johns River be part of the American <br />Heritage River Program. <br />Under discussion, Vice Chairman Adams commented that she felt that under the <br />current circumstances and the effort being put forth from Jacksonville to the south, it was the <br />very least the Board could do. <br />Commissioner Ginn wanted to delay voting on this issue for a week.
