These ads will be broadcast 100 to 150 miles out, not to local <br />residents. <br />Chairman Macht objected to the program if it is to be specific to the Dodgers' ball <br />games. He did not feel that it would be proper to support a private organization who is able <br />to pay its players 15 to 30 million dollars and would only support the effort if all other <br />attractions in the County were included, such as the Center for the Arts and the <br />Environmental Learning Center. <br />Commissioner Tippin noted that this spring training season is different than other <br />spring training seasons and this will be a special one-time thing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Tippin, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Grin, the Board <br />unanimously approved the expenditure of $26,000 <br />with the proviso that the campaign include other <br />Indian River County tourist activities. <br />14.A. EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT <br />The Chairman announced that, immediately upon adjournment, the Board would <br />reconvene as the Board of Commissioners of the Emergency Services District. SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL DISTRICT <br />The Chairman announced that immediately upon adjournment of the Emergency <br />Services District Meeting, the Board would reconvene as the Board of Commissioners of the <br />Solid Waste Disposal District.
