PUBLIC DISCUSSION ITEM - BABE RUTH <br />BASEBALL/SPIRIT OF YOUTH BASEBALL LEAGUE - <br />RECOMMENDATION OF THE PARKS AND <br />RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />The Board reviewed the following Motion of the Parks and Recreation Advisory <br />Committee Meeting of March 4, 1999 and a letter of February 23, 1999 <br />At the meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee meeting held on <br />March 4, 1999, the following motion was made: <br />ON MOTION by Mr. Wilson, SECONDED by Mr. Minnis, <br />the Committee recommended (6-0) that the Board of <br />County Commissioners allow the Babe Ruth <br />Baseball/Spirlt of Youth Baseball League to use the <br />Regional Parks at South County and Hobart for two <br />weeks at no charge. Your local founder, Dave King, was informed from <br />conception that government today cannot use their regional parks designed <br />for all citizens, to provide facilities for "special interest" groups. When Mc <br />King informed me he was breaking away from Little league to forma ' . . <br />Ruth League, I told him there were no regulation bawbill fields'available.: <br />Additionally; he was informed South• County could only be used as a <br />field.
