Mora, P.E. <br />County Traffic Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Proposed Amendments to <br />City of Vero Beach / Indian River County <br />Traffic Signal Maintenance Agreement <br />DATE: March 22, 1999 <br />aaaaaaaaaaaamaaaaaaaaaaaaanaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanammaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Under an interlocal agreement executed in 1992, the County operates <br />and maintains twenty-nine (29) of the thirty-six (36) traffic <br />signals within the City of Vero Beach. The City has now requested <br />that the remaining seven traffic signals be formally added to the <br />maintenance agreement. These seven traffic signals were not <br />included within the original agreement because: <br />1. They were built and activated after 1992, or <br />2. They were not part of the original Closed Loop computerized <br />traffic signal system. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />For purposes of operation, maintenance, and coordination, the <br />County has found it advantageous that all traffic signals within <br />the County remain under the jurisdiction of a single agency.
