• <br />RESOLUTION 99-36 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER <br />COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR <br />TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY <br />AFFAIRS FOR AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT -COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />BLOCK GRANT. <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County is experiencing a need for full-time jobs; <br />WHEREAS it is the desire of the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners <br />to lower the county's average annual unemployment rate to within two percentage points of <br />the State of Florida's average annual unemployment rate; and <br />WHEREAS the proposed Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application <br />is consistent with the Indian River County comprehensive plan; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNTY COMMISSION OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA; that <br />SECTION 1. The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program is declared <br />to be a workable program for providing financing for a project that will provide jobs to low - <br />to -moderate income persons as indicated in the proposed 1999/2000 CDBG application. <br />SECTION 2. The Board of County Commissioners hereby directs the County Clerk <br />to sign all necessary certifications for the Community Development Block Grant application. <br />SECTION 3. The Board of County Commissioners directs the Community <br />Development Director to execute and submit the attached application to the Florida <br />Department of Community Affairs for state approval. <br />SECTION 4. The Board of County Commissioners authorizes and directs the <br />Community Development Director to submit additional information in a timely manner as <br />may be required by the Florida Department of Community Affairs. <br />APRIL 2% 1999 <br />-31- <br />BOOK .� � FACE <br />• <br />
