CR -510 AND US #1 INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS - <br />CHANGE ORDER NO. 1- RANGER CONSTRUCTION <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of April 12, 1999: <br />TO: James Chandler <br />County Administrator <br />THROUGH: James W. Davis, P.E. <br />Public Works Directo <br />FROM: Tent' B. Thompson, P. <br />Capital Projects Manager <br />SUBJECT: CR 510 and US 1 Intersection Improvements <br />Change Order No.1 <br />DATE: April 12, 1999 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Ranger Construction, Inc. is under contract with Indian River County to construct <br />improvements at the intersection of CR 510 and US 1. The east leg of the intersection <br />transitions from five lanes at US 1 to two lanes 700 feet east of US 1. <br />The attached Change Order No. 1 provides for transitioning from five lanes to three lanes, <br />rather than the proposed two lanes. This will provide for continuing the three lane section <br />east to the bridge on a future widening project at a significant cost savings. <br />The attached Change Order also includes an increase for conduit under pavement. The <br />original bid did not take into account that some of the signal conduit would have to be <br />installed under existing pavement <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends approval of the attached Change Order No. 1 in the amount of <br />$23,102.25. This added to the current contract amount of $461,066.65, results in a new <br />contract amount of $484,168.90. <br />Funding is from Account #101-154541-067.36. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Stanbridge, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Ginn, the Board <br />unanimously approved Change Order No. 1 with <br />Ranger Construction, making anew contract amount <br />of $484,168.90, as recommended by staff. <br />CHANGE ORDER IS ON FILE IN THE <br />OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />APRIL 20, 1999 <br />
