CHAST AND STAFFED MANAGER OF ASSE PROJECTS BY: SUBJECT: SEBASTIAN WATER EXPANSION PHASE II A RESOLUTION IV — FINAL ASSESSMENT INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PROJECT NO. UW -96 -20 -DS On May 26, 1998, the Board of County Commissioners approved Resolution III, No. 98-59, for the preliminary assessment roll on the above -referenced project. Construction of the project has been completed Letters were mailed to property owners notifying them that they could connect to the system. Customer connections have now begun. We are now requesting the Board's approval of the final assessment roll. (See attached minutes and Resolution IV). ANALYSIS The preliminary assessment was for an estimated cost of $981,641.46, which equated to $0.191713 (rounded) per square foot of property assessed. The final assessment (see attached Resolution IV and the accompanying assessment roll), is in the amount of $834,107.07, which equates to a cost of $0.162900 (rounded) per square foot. The final assessment is $.0288 per square foot (15.03%) less than the preliminary assessment. - RECOMMENDATION The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve adoption of Resolution IV, which is attached, and authorize the chairman to execute same. ON MOTION by Commissioner Stanbridge, SECONDED by Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously adopted Resolution 99-055 certifying "as -built" costs for installation of water service for the Sebastian Area, Phase II -A (located west of Roseland Road and north of CR -512) and such other construction necessitated by such project, providing for formal completion date, and date for payment without penalty and interest.
