Keller, CLA <br />Legal Assistant - County Attorney's Office <br />DATE: June 24,1999 <br />RE: Recently Acquired Properties - Tax Cancellation <br />The County recently acquired some property and, pursuant to Section 196.28, <br />Florida Statutes, the Board, after formally accepting the property, may cancel <br />and discharge any taxes owed on it as long as it was acquired for public purpose. <br />Such cancellation must be done by resolution of the Board, with a certified copy <br />being forwarded to the Tax Collector (along with copies sent to the Property <br />Appraiser and Fixed Assets). <br />Requested Action: -Board authorize the Chairman to sign the attached <br />resolution which -cancels taxes upon the land that the County recently acquired. <br />JULY 69 1999 <br />-24- <br />
