Mr. DeBlois added that the property in question is about three -tenths of an acre, of <br />which about .2 acre is jurisdictional wetland. Another point he wished to make is that the <br />County's regulatory buffer along the Indian River Lagoon protects the property from <br />development, other than the disturbed upland area. All things considered there is still <br />substantial protection for the property. He viewed it as "shoreline fringe,, which would not <br />be useful for future mitigation. <br />There was CONSENSUS with Chairman Macht's direction to <br />Attorney O'Brien to meet with staff and come up with a <br />procedure that would flag anything beyond mere routine <br />matters, so that they would come before the Commission either <br />under the Consent Agenda or, in the case of something with <br />more significance, under Departmental Matters. <br />Attorney O'Brien understood and will draft a policy to bring back before the Board. <br />13.A.2 CHAIRMAN MACHT - WELCOME TO KIM MASS <br />UNG <br />NEW ADMINISTRATIVE AIDE TO THE BOARD <br />Chairman Mack felt it appropriate to greet Kim Massung, Alice White's replacement, <br />who has filled the Administrative Aide to the Board position with great enthusiasm, vigor <br />and intelligence. The effective date of the <br />ordinance was extended to October 1, 1999, with the intention that the Board would hold <br />another public hearing. She understood the Sheriff's Department was conducting <br />educational sessions with the alarm users. The intention of the Commission, however, was <br />that another public hearing would be held because the alarm users were not cognizant of the <br />new regulations until they began getting notices from the Sheriff's Department.
