Y•�. ��� •i� t• <br />Kimley-Horn Associates, Inc. is under contract with Indian River County to perform <br />professional services for improvements to Kings Highway. <br />The attached Amendment No. 9 provides for expanding design services for King's <br />Highway Phase II. The segment of Kings Highway from 0 Street to Oslo Road was <br />originally planned as a 2 -lane roadway and the segment from 0 Street to 16°i Street was <br />planned as a 4 -lane divided roadway. Due to the increase in development, higher traffic <br />counts and to simplify the phasing of construction, staff is recommending that the section <br />of Kings Highway from 0 Street to Oslo Road be designed as a 4 -lane divided roadway <br />in lieu of a 2 -lane roadway. <br />Phase II design plans have not been finalized because right-of-way is still being acquired. <br />The modified design will incorporate revisions to the typical sections, plan and profile <br />sheets, signing and marking sheets, cross sections, and signalization plan for the 5e <br />Avenue and Oslo Road intersection. <br />The compensation due the Engineer for Amendment No. 9 is $30,800.00. This increases <br />the total compensation for Roadway Design for Phase I and Phase II of Kings Highway <br />from $633,358.00 to $664,158.00. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends approval of Amendment No. 9 in the amount of $30,800.00.
