BACKGROUND <br />A petition has been received from the residents of 28tq Avenue, (north of 4" Street) requesting the <br />County to supply potable water to its residents. We are now coming to the Board of Cowry <br />Commissioners to seek approval to begin design of the above-mentioned project. (See attached <br />petition and plat map.) <br />ANALYSIS <br />There are six non -platted residential parcels which may benefit from this proposed water line on <br />2e Avenue. The petition has been signed by four of the owners (67%). The properties are from <br />.23 acre to .42 acre. The attached map displays the area to benefit from the assessment project. <br />Twenty eighth Avenue is a private street, and the owners will be providing the County with the <br />necessary utility easement. <br />Ibis project is to be paid through the assessment of property owners along the proposed water line <br />route. In the interim, funding will be from the assessment fiord No. 473. Design service will be <br />provided by the Department of Utility Services. <br />I ;7 xK�7�i lu � �ia7�l ti [1�►1 <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends approval of the above -listed project, <br />and requests authorization for the Department to proceed with the design engineering work and <br />award a contract for survey services through the issuance of a purchase order based on the most <br />favorable quote, in preparation for the spec-ial assessment project. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Stanbridge, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Commissioner Ginn absent) approved the petition water service <br />on 28' Avenue (north of 41 Street), Project No. UW -99 -06 -DS, <br />and authorized the Utility Services Department to proceed with <br />the design engineering work and award a contract for survey <br />services through the issuance of a purchase order based on the <br />most favorable quote, in preparation for the special assessment <br />project, as recommended in the memorandum. <br />B.A. CHAIRMAN MACHT -REQUEST FOR VOLUNTEERS TO <br />SERVE ON THE UTILITIES ADVISORY BOARD <br />ChairmanMacht announced a vacancy on the Utilities Advisory Board and asked that <br />anyone interested in serving on this board send their resume to the Board of County <br />Commissioners office. <br />13A COMIVHSSIONER STANBRIDGE - MEMBERSHIP IN <br />ASSOCIATION OF NATIONAL ESTUARY PROGRAM (AMP) <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of August 31, 1999: <br />SEPTEMBER 7, 1999 <br />111 <br />
