Expansion of the <br />boundaries must be by Ordinance, which requires a Public Hearing. <br />The draft ordinance is attached. <br />The expanded district will result in additional properties being <br />charged the $2/year MSTU assessment. The cost of the light will be <br />approximately $150 per year. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />Staff presents the following alternatives: <br />Alternative No. 1 <br />Approve the ordinance which provides for the expansion of <br />the boundaries of the street light district approximately <br />300' to the west which includes a portion of lot 35, 36 <br />and 37 lying north and south of Roseland Road in Section <br />22, Fleming Grant. If the ordinance is approved, staff <br />would proceed to have FPL install the light. <br />Alternative No. 2 <br />Deny the request. <br />RECODDMMATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends Alternative No. 1. The Public Hearing is to be <br />held Sept. 7, 1999. <br />ATTACHE= <br />Draft Ordinance <br />Map <br />Public Works Director James Davis reviewed the memorandumusing the map onpage <br />131 of the backup to illustrate his description of the boundaries. He advised that the <br />maximum increase would be $10 per year to those who owned larger parcels within the area. <br />The Chairman opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to be heard in <br />this matter.
