FF, I <br />BOOK <br />Policy 5.4: The county shall ensure an efficient permitting process among all goven <br />departments and agencies to facilitate a smooth transition for industries relocating to Indian <br />County. _ <br />Proposed Action: REVISE POLICY <br />The county, through pre -application meetings and Technical Review Committee meetings, shall <br />review procedures, identify needed permits, and provide information and feedback to applicants to <br />expedite the permitting process. The county shall also assist applicants by providing information <br />on non -county required permits or reviews and provide contact information. <br />Pnlicy5_5: On a regular basis, the Indian River County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) <br />shall request updated information from the Florida Department of Transportation on the extension <br />of Amtrak and high speed rail services. <br />Proposed Action: DELETE POLICY <br />Policy 6- The county, through the Tourist Development Council, shall continue to market the <br />county internationally in an effort to increase market share. <br />Proposed Action: DELETE POLICY <br />Policv 6.1 will be combined with policy 6.3. <br />Policy 6262: By 1998, the county, in cooperation with the Tourist Development Council, shall <br />continue to market eco -tourism and cultural tourism in relation to the county's environmental <br />amenities and cultural offerings. <br />Proposed Action: REVISE POLICY <br />The Tourism Division of the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce and other tourism groups <br />designated by the Board of County Commissioner; shall continue to market eco -tourism and cultural <br />tourism in relation to the county's environmental amenities and cultural offerings. The Tourism <br />Division shall publish advertisements which market the county's environmental amenities and <br />cultural offerings. A representative of the Chamber of Commerce shall present those advertisements <br />and any results to the Tourist Development Council. <br />Policy 6 't: By 1998, the county, through the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce and its <br />Tourism Division, in cooperation with local resorts and motels, shall market the county as a <br />vacation/recreation area' The Chamber of Commerce shall report to the Tourist Development <br />Council regularly on its marketing activities. <br />Proposed Action: REVISE POLICY <br />The Tourism Division of the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce and other tourism groups <br />designated by the Board of County Commissioners, in cooperation with local resorts and hotels, <br />shall market the county as a vacation/recreation area Marketing activities shall include advertising, <br />attending travel shows, and maintaining contact with various travel organizations at a national level <br />and an international level. A representative of the Chamber of Commerce shall report to the Tourist <br />Development Council on their marketing actions. <br />Policy 6.4: By 1998, the county, through the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce and its <br />Economic Development Division and Tourism Division, shall publish advertisements cross -selling <br />tourism and economic development.
