Davis, P.E. <br />Public Works Director 1--r <br />SUBJECT: Acceptance of FY 2000 EPA Section 319 <br />Nonpoint Source (Stormwater) Management Grant <br />Vero Lakes Estates <br />RE: Letter from Eric Livingston, Florida Department of Environmental <br />Protection (F.D.E.P.) to James W. Davis, dated October 14, 1999 <br />DATE: October 19, 1999 <br />Indian River County has been selected to receive an EPA Section 319 Grant in the amount <br />of $400,000.00 for construction of the Vero Lakes Estates Subdivision Stormwater <br />Management Phase I Project. The entire project cost is estimated to be $941,730.00 and <br />includes enlarging several lakes in the subdivision, connecting the Be Street and 831' <br />Street canals to the lakes, and constructing several drainage pipes and ditches in the area. <br />The F.D.E.P. must know by November 15, 1999 if the County intends to accept the grant. <br />The Vero Lakes Estates Subdivision is in need of improved drainage. This project will <br />provide stormwater treatment by detention and flood control. The alternatives are as <br />follows: <br />Accept the Grant. <br />OCTOBER 26, 1999 <br />. -80- <br />• <br />
