However, during Hurricane Floyd in September and Hurricane Irene in October, it was <br />evident that in order to properly inform our citizens and visitors, the County must provide emergency <br />information by radio and cable television. Many residents were without power for days or lost cable television <br />capability and their only means of receiving information was via AM/FM battery powered radio. <br />NOVEMBER 16, 1999 <br />-124 <br />
